Strategy for 2017

Strategic planning. We all like to do it at this time of the year. But is looking at the past year’s figures strategic planning? Is the past the best reflection of the future? I am starting to think that is a good place to start, but we need to perhaps, put down that profit and loss statement and think more creatively about the direction of your business for 2017.

Certainly since the election, there is a sense of optimism around us. Just look at the stock market. I think the consensus is the people resoundingly voted for CHANGE. I certainly feel the time is ripe to expand and grow. But looking at the figures in my books do not show my direction to 2017.

So how do you start to plan for the future? Meet with your bookkeeper or ProAdvisor maybe over lunch or coffee. Tell them your thoughts and dreams. What are your pain points? This is what I love about my job. My ability to help. Share ideas. I want my clients to be so successful, that they ask me to handle everything QuickBooks so that they can do what they love, run their business. I stay on top of the technology side of the accounting business and maybe I even learn from you, Mr. or Mrs. Business owner. Since I have started to meet with my clients in person or online, it has been beneficial both ways. I am on your team!

So, onward and upward. Lets hope for a happy and productive and PROFITABLE, 2017!
